The First Steps to a Larger World

The First Steps To A Larger World

My name is John Ikuma and I am excited to announce the arrival of a whole new way of learning the art of stop motion animation. It has been a long time in the planning, but the day has finally arrived. With the launch of this site I plan to offer students the opportunity to learn from professionals that have the experience to teach what they know. The biggest problem with the educational systems around the world is the lack of professional instruction from individuals who have actual real world experience. Universities typically restrict their professors to only masters degree requirements for their hiring practices. This is not the case with Stop Motion University. Our goal is to connect students with real world experienced instructors who actual do professionally what the student wants to learn.

Currently the site is small, but like a seed I hope that it will grow to encompass a large amount of resources and educational topics from which users of the site can access. For one thing the very first goal of the site is to join instructors with students. This is mainly done online through online video chatting. By doing this we can connect instructors with students anywhere in the world. There is a major need for this since animation practices around the world are vastly different in terms of scope. One country may only have educational resources in the form of books poorly translated, or websites which only give them a fraction of the real answers.

With this site the goals are simple. Proper Education!

I hope you find what you need through this site. Currently I am the first instructor which means a lot of heavy lifting and figuring out the bugs in the system. There are a number of master level instructors lined up to join the team of Stop Motion University. So if you are interested please feel free to check back often. You can also contact me directly at editor@stopmotionmagazine(dot)com

I look forward to hearing from you and providing a world class educationally experience for all.

Keep Animating

I am doing the course! It is just what I need and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who has an interest in animation, knows nothing and wants to learn.

Set out in bite sized chunks, you can go at your own speed and receive constructive criticism from a professional who wants to help.

I have been looking for a course like this for a very long time.
